Decker wins 2 golds to lead Rebels to runner up finish at Todd Martin Ranger Relays

The Midland Legacy boys’ track team took second in the Todd Martin Ranger Relays on March 1 and 2 with a score of 118 behind Midland’s 143 points. The JV team won with a score of 147.5.

Cade Decker won the shot put with a toss of 52 feet, 10.5 inches. Decker also won the discus with a personal record distance of 167 feet, five inches.

Masseye Diop won gold in the 110 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 15.12. Jayden Holmes Peres was second with a personal record time of 15.60.

Evis Bobey won the JV shot put, with a personal record throw of 43 feet, 1.75 inches. He also won discs with a personal record distance of 123 feet, six inches.

Logan Meade won silver in the 400 meters with a time of 50.18.

Alexis Chaves won silver in long jump with a personal record distance of 21 feet, eight inches. Nicalus Moore had a personal record of 21 feet, seven inches for bronze.

In the 800 meters, John Abalos had a personal record time of 2:04.80 to win the bronze.

In the 1,600 meters, the JV team swept the podium with Jaime Flores winning gold with a time of 4:59.93. Caden Perez was second with a time of 5:11.13 and Joshua Carey was third with a personal record time of 5:14.50.

In the 3,200 meters, Abalos had a personal record time of 10:16.96 to take silver. Bronze went to Aidan Montes, who clocked in at 10:43.27. Flores won the JV event with a personal record time of 10:48.80. Perez was second with a time of 11:10.64, which was also a personal record.

The 4x400 meter relay team won silver with a time of 3:27.65. The team included Caiden Chavez, Christian Imperial, Cesar Gutierrez Navarro and Meade.

In the JV 4x100 meter relay, Midland Legacy won with a time of 45.30. The team included Olamide Oladiran, McKenzie Rogers, Weldon Cooks and Jaylen Ballard.

In the JV high jump, Cooks had a personal record height of five feet, nine inches for gold.
