Strambler wins pair of golds to lead Lady Rebels to win at Todd Martin Ranger Relays

Senior Aaralyn Strambler had a huge day for the Midland Legacy track and field team, picking up two gold medals to lead the Lady Rebels to a win at the Todd Martin Ranger Relays on March 1 and 2.

Midland Legacy had a score of 198 to beat out Midland and Lubbock Coronado, who each had 88 points. The JV team also won with a score of 160, beating out second place Lubbock Coronado’s 105.5 points.

Strambler won the 100 meters with a time of 12.34. She also won the gold in long jump with a personal record distance of 19 feet, 0.5 inches.

Iyana Smith won the gold in the 200 meters with a time of 25.51. Jaelynn Norman took the bronze in the event with a time of 26.50. Strambler also ran well here, placing fifth with a time of 27.99.

Mia Regalado won the 3,200 meters with a personal record time of 12:12.43. Jones took silver and clocked in at 12:35.23. In the JV, Gabriella Garcia won gold with a personal record time of 12:56.37, and Amanda Hara had silver at 13:49.53- also a personal record.

Pamela Ouattara won gold in the shot put with a personal record toss of 45 feet, two inches. Bolaji Subair won the bronze with a throw of 41 feet, four inches. Gonzales Madison just missed the podium with a personal record throw of 37 feet, 11.5 inches for fourth place. Marie Tchao won the JV shotput with a toss of 30 feet, 7.25 inches, and Jmhyla Royal also had a personal record toss of 30 feet, 4.25 inches for the silver.

Subair won the discus with a distance of 154 feet, six inches. Ouattara was third with a personal record toss of 141 feet, nine inches. Sydnee Patman was fourth with a personal record distance of 121 feet, two inches. The JV also fared well here, with Znieyha Starling throwing 114 feet, a personal record, for gold. Nathalie Primera won silver with a throw of 107 feet, two inches.

The 4x100 meter relay team took the gold with a time of 50.47. The team includes Esther Adetimehin, Jenna Gray, Cayzli Wilson and Tarayah Hubert.

The 4x200 meter relay also won the gold with a time of 1:45.04. Adetimehin, Hubert, Smith and Jaelynn Norman make up the team.

The 4x400 meter relay team won the silver with a time of 4:14.42. This team included Isabella Reyna, Jada Mathis, Abigail Hinojosa and Skye Lopez.

In the pole vault, Victoria Salazar won silver with a height of nine feet, six inches. Elizabeth Garcia was third with a height of eight feet, six inches.

In the 800 meters, Isabella Reyna had a personal record time of 2:32.66, good for sixth place for varsity. However, the future is bright in this race as Makayla Rodriguez, Sabrina Ortiz and Miranda Rodriguez took all three medals in that order.

In the 1,600 meters, Kyndall Jones won the silver with a personal record time of 5:38.33. Regalado just missed the podium in fourth place, but also had a personal record with a time of 5:41.82.

The JV owned the podium for the 1,600 meters, with Gabriella Garcia placing first with a time of 6:08.06. Rodriguez was second with a time of 6:19.58 and Amanda Haro had a personal record time of 6:25.07 for third.

Nobody placed in the 100 meter hurdles for varsity, but Nicole Gibson won gold for JV with a personal record time of 17.91. She also won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.37.

This was the same case with 400 meters, with Rodriguez winning gold for JV with a time of 1:07.11.
