Proposal with the Midland Mayor and City Council | The Preserve at Midland

MIDLAND, TX – Boot Lake Ranch Property Owner, LLC today received unanimous approval for its zone change application for “The Preserve at Midland” proposal with the Midland Mayor and City Council. The approval is a critical step in moving the West Midland project forward.

“We’re very appreciative of the support from Mayor Blong and the city council,” said Boot Lake Ranch Partner, Adam Cunyus. “The Preserve is an exciting opportunity for the city, both as a unique community gathering place and as an economic driver for the local economy. We look forward to continuing working with the city and residents to get this project to construction.”

The mayor and city council’s support follows the unanimous approval from the Midland Planning Commission for Boot Lake Ranch’s zone change application from AE, Agricultural Estate District, to LR, Local Retail District for the property at the former Nueva Vista Golf Club, located just north of the Hwy 158 & Hwy 191 Interchange.

The Preserve at Midland will create an estimated 100+ new jobs, along with new sales and property tax benefits to Midland, with over 300,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, office, and commercial space opportunities. The project preserves over 40% of the property for open space and park space, woven together by a public trail system covering the entire site. A constant-level lake and our boardwalk design will connect the retail and restaurants to the water, providing a one-of-a-kind waterfront attraction to Midland. The current plan for construction is estimated to start sometime in 2024.

“The support we’ve gotten from the community so far has been tremendous. Over 700 residents signed our support petition with many providing comments about how excited they are for this opportunity,” said Boot Lake Ranch Partner, Reid Redman. “We’re very thankful for the community’s enthusiasm. It’s played a key part in getting us to where we are with The Preserve today.”

Boot Lake Ranch Property Owner, LLC is a Midland-based company run by local residents Adam Cunyus, Ian Denholm, and Reid Redman. After listening to the issues and concerns raised by the community following the previous applicant’s plan for the property, the three jumped at the opportunity to bring a fresh, unique development that will serve all of Midland.
