At Stake: Permian looks to get back above .500 after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Frenship. San Angelo Central has had a tough go with seven losses straight, and are looking to find a win.

What to watch: The Permian Panthers have been a very good team for having a .500 record as they have suffered three losses of eight points or less including an overtime loss three weeks ago. They squeaked by with a one point win to Legacy two weeks ago, but last week Frenship hit a fourth quarter field goal to put them up by two and hand Permian a loss.

Look for the Panthers to come out firing against a struggling San Angelo squad. Permian has a stellar running game that is led by Juzstyce Lara, who is coming off a 242 yard performance with two rushing touchdowns. He has 1,167 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, and is running at a clip of 7.5 yards per carry.

Quarterback Jakob Garcia was efficient with an 8-for-12 showing, for 79 yards and two scores through the air. Gage Murphy is his main target with 20 catches for 301 yards and three scores this year.

Leading the defense this season has been Riley Summerford, who had a sack last week and four on the season. However, the team had trouble with covering the pass last week, allowing 425 yards and six touchdown passes. The Panthers only have three total interceptions this year and three fumbles recovered.

San Angelo is led by quarterback Christian English, who is coming off a 29-for-51 performance, where he has 266 yards and a touchdown. English was effective running the ball with 24 yards and two scores on seven carries. English has compiled a total of 2,874 yards of offense this season. On the year he is throwing at a 60.3% completion rate, 1,926 yards, 14 touchdowns and two picks. On the ground, English has 948 yards on 82 carries for 16 touchdowns.

Colton Hill is the wide receiver to watch, as he has 42 catches for 639 yards and three scores. Alex Lindsay has 27 catches, 419 yards and a team high four touchdowns.

Mason Van Sickle leads the defense with 73 tackles and five for a loss, and two picks. Seth Mariano has 64 tackles with five for a loss.
