Midland Mayor Lori Blong expressed her appreciation for two city staff members who received a positive review from a resident. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Blong shared a personal letter she received from a resident named Sharon Kopp, commending the helpfulness and positive attitudes of Shaquawanna Carter and Miste Badger-Williams.
The letter stated, "The city employees that Mr. Gale Martin and I have encountered have been good, some exemplary and two, Ms. Carter and Ms. Badger-Williams are outstanding." Kopp praised the employees for their joyful personalities, professional acumen, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
Mayor Blong was delighted to receive the letter and acknowledged the impact that Carter and Badger-Williams have made on residents. She quoted the letter in her Facebook post, saying, "These two made a powerful impact on Sharon Kopp and she took the time to tell us about her encounter. Sharon, I agree; their joyful personalities make every encounter a ‘Grand Slam Home Run.’ We are blessed to have such dedicated city staff. Thank you for making the City of Midland shine, Shaquawanna and Miste."
Blong also encouraged other residents to share their positive experiences with city staff. She wrote, "I love hearing good things about our city staff!" In her post, she provided contact information for residents to reach out to her and share their feedback.
