Ector County Sheriff's Office mourns late corporal, release funeral details

The Ector County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) is grieving the loss of Corporal David Wayne Core, who passed away on September 17th. The city of Odessa expressed their condolences, stating that their thoughts and prayers are with Core's family during this difficult time. Core began his career in 2019 at the Ector County Detention Center and was promoted to the rank of corporal last May. The cause of his death is currently unknown.

Funeral arrangements for Core have been made and will be overseen by Acres West Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Odessa. According to reports from local news stations, a viewing for Core will be held on September 24th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Acres West. The funeral service will also take place at the funeral home on September 25th at 10 a.m.
