Midland County Public Libraries, in partnership with the Public Library Foundation, has issued a list of program descriptions about the events scheduled for September.
The activities offered include an adult coloring group, welcoming newcomers, an anime club aimed at teens and tweens, the Art Thing The, an instructor-led class aimed at individuals of all ages interested in learning various art techniques on a wide range of media, and the Born to Read Birthday Celebration, which helps parents celebrate their child's birthday, providing a special gift on the third Thursday of the birthday celebrant's month. Children up to the age of five are eligible for the gift, which requires a registration.
The library will also host the Dressing the Abbey Exhibition, which presents costumes created for the British drama produced by Cosprop. According to the release, the costumes were created for the television show's aristocratic Crawley family and their servants who inhabit the fictional Downtown Abbey. The exhibition will open on September 22 and will remain on display through December 15.
Teens and tweens can game lovers can test their skills going against other gamers. The library will also offer the activity, Genealogy: Off the Shelves, aimed at adults, where Troy Gray will discuss the history of The Bush Family Home in Midland. A Youth Nerf Gun War activities for children ages 7-12 will also be offered, as well as Teen leadership board, teen/tween embroidery and workforce Wednesday.
The library will also offer Knit-a-bit for any level of knitter, the literacy and movement class for pre-school ages, a needlepoint group for ages 13 and up, the Page Turner Book Club, which reads a different genre, and brings in a new person for discussion for each sessions, and the Some Assembly Required Exhibit, which closes on September 9 Other craft-related events include teen crafting hour, youth crafting hour and tiny canvas painting.
In addition, the library will continue its Bookmobile weekly at Dennis the Menace Park from 10-11AM, the Freeland Park from 2-3PM, and the Karanda Park from 3-4PM.
