USTA: Collin Smith of Midland ranks 625 in Boys’ 12 bonus points bracket in February

Collin Smith of Midland finished 625th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 12 bracket in the month.

They have no bonus points by the end of the month.

Their ranking fell by 40 from the month before.

There are 42 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
