PUBLIC NOTICE OF A MEETING AT WHICH THE MIDLAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONSIDER THE APPROVAL OF A TAX ABATEMENT AGREEMENT WITH A PROPERTY OWNER
Pursuant to Section 312.207 of the Texas Tax Code, notice is hereby given that the Commissioners Court of Midland County, Texas, will consider the approval of a tax abatement agreement with a property owner at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Commissioners Court.
Time and Place of the Meeting: The tax abatement agreement will be considered during the Commissioners Court meeting scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. on November 28, 2022, in the Commissioners Courtroom, at the Midland County Courthouse, 500 N. Loraine, Midland, Texas 79701.
Tax Abatement Agreement Information Required by Texas Tax Code Section 312.207: Pursuant to Section 312.207 of the Texas Tax Code, the following information is provided regarding the proposed tax abatement agreement project:
1. Name of property owner and applicant for tax abatement agreement: Pioneer Hutt Wind Energy, LLC.
2. Name and location of reinvestment zone in which the property subject to the agreement is located: The name of the reinvestment zone will be the Pioneer Hutt Wind Energy Reinvestment zone and the location is 629.91 acres being all of Section 11, Block 38, T-3S, R&P RR Co. Survey, Certificate 3039, A-92, Pat 631, Volume 68, dated February 12, 1884, SAVE & EXCEPT approximately 10.09 acres out of the southwest corner heretofore conveyed to Texas Electric Service Company by deed dated February 20, 1952, recorded in Volume 189, Page 372, Deed Records of Midland Co., Texas, Leaving 629.91 acres, more or less. situated in the County of MIDLAND, State of Texas.
3. General description of the nature of the improvements included in the agreement: The improvements to be included in the tax abatement agreement generally consist of a 141 MW/AC wind energy generation facility that will be comprised of approximately 50 GE model turbines with a capacity of 2.8 MW AC, and also includes transmission lines, underground electrical collection cables, a substation, an operation and maintenance building, meteorological and associated towers, access roads to turbines, foundation, roadways, paving, and fencing.
4. Estimated cost of the improvements: The estimated costs of the improvements are approximately Two hundred twenty million dollars ($220,000,000.00)
The tax abatement agreement described in this notice also will appear on the agenda that is posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act for the scheduled November 28, 2022, meeting of the Midland County Commissioners Court. This notice is given in the manner required by the Texas Open Meetings Act at least 30 days before the scheduled time of the meeting described in this notice.
