Midland tennis player Jerall Farris ranks 5,104th in Boys’ 18 doubles points bracket in week ending Sept. 17

Jerall Farris of Midland finished 5,104th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 18 bracket in the week ending Sept. 17.

They have 18 double points by the end of the week.

Their ranking rose by 16 from the week before.

There are 51 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.
