Midland tennis player Jackson Earl ranks in Boys’ 16 singles points bracket in week ending July 16

Jackson Earl of Midland finished 19,519th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 16 bracket in the week ending July 16.

They earned 15 points to finish the week with 65 single points.

Their ranking rose by 2,431 over the week before.

There are 47 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
