USTA: Vivian Myers of Midland ranks 20,100th in Girls’ 16 singles points bracket in week ending June 18

Vivian Myers of Midland finished 20,100th in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 16 bracket in the week ending June 18.

They lost 24 points to finish the week with 30 single points.

Their ranking fell by 3,914 from the week before.

There are 45 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.

Standings are released weekly.
