You'll have to meet JAKE to appreciate his true awesomeness! He is quite a unique character - but a sweetheart among other things. Jake is a 6 year old Plott Hound. He is a big dog (approximately 70- 75 lbs) with a tall, muscled physique. Despite his intimidating size, he's been quite the impressive, well-mannered gentleman around MHC staff. Jake was surrendered by owners reluctantly. He was adopted from MHC 5 years ago. Sadly, but understandably, they weren't comfortable having such a large dog around their toddler. Jake walks well on a leash and has done exceptionally well adjusting to our kennel environment. He seems to get along better with other large breed dogs than the small ones. Jake can be protective over his bones (probably best not to indulge his addiction) and his favorite toys! He does great with small treats that he can quickly gobble up. Jake has been a spoiled house dog, but also enjoys his time spent sunbathing in the yard. He doesn’t like actual baths much, but will wade in a kiddie pool on hot days. Jake resembles a huge, adorable teddy bear with big brown eyes that will melt your heart. Come and snatch this guy up! *Jake will do best in a home with older children. Cats unknown- but previous owner says he didn’t care for the neighborhood cats.
