Kate Hendricks of Midland finished 17,926th in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 14 bracket in the week ending Jan. 15.

They earned no points to finish the week with 32 single points.

Their ranking fell by 143 from the week before.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.
