A Bureau of Economic Analysis report found Midland to be the 10th wealthiest metro area in the US, down from being ranked the second wealthiest metro area by the Bureau in 2012.
A report from Open Secrets, a non-profit tracking and analyzing political donations, found the top 10 percent of wealthy cities and counties in the US, such as Midland, donated over one-third of all political contributions in federal elections.
The FEC regulates any political donations over $250 per year and makes such information available online.
