Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine can now be made through Midland Health’s new online self-scheduling tool.
Anyone in the community that meets the current criteria can make an appointment for the first dose. Appointments for the second dose will automatically be scheduled by the system for three weeks later at the same time of day, same day of the week and same location as the first dose. Midland Health is only giving second doses of the vaccine to people who received their first dose through them.
The tool can be accessed by clicking the “Click to Self-Schedule” button at midlandhealth.org/vaccine. People must create an Athena Patient Portal account if they do not already have one to get started.
Midland Health offers options for members of the community that cannot or do not want to use the self-scheduling tool. People can add themselves to the waiting list by clicking on the “Click to Register” button at midlandhealth.org/vaccine and filling out the online form. They will be contacted at the email address or phone number they provide at a later time to schedule their appointment. Alternatively, people can call Midland Health’s vaccine hotline at 432-221-4VAX Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
People in Phase 1A and 1B are currently eligible for the vaccine. Front-line health care workers and the residents and staff of long-term care facilities make up Phase 1A. Phase 1B consists of people that have a chronic medical condition as well as anyone 65 years old or older.
