Dr. Ann Dixon is no stranger to serving as an school interim superintendent and she has drawn the task again in her latest appointment at Midland Independent School District.
The district’s board of trustees named Dixon the interim leader, taking over for Darrell Dodds, the district chief financial officer, who had been serving in an acting position since Orlando Riddick’s contract was terminated early. A press release from the Midland Chamber of Commerce reported Dixon’s first day as the interim superintendent was Sept. 21.
Dixon has plenty of experience in education, having served as an interim superintendent at Hayes CISD and Montgomery ISD. She also served as the superintendent at Somerset starting in 1990 after 19 years at Judson ISD the school-system website said.
"Dr. Dixon has a demonstrated track record of serving as a data-driven academic leader, with a concentrated focus on supporting principals, teachers, and students at the campus level," board president Rick Davis said in the press release.
