Tenaris issued the following announcement.

Tenaris employees in Saudi Arabia are continuing their volunteer efforts, providing additional support to the community and a local clinic in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Employees at the TenarisSaudiSteelPipes mill teamed up with a local aid organization to donate 500 boxes of essential food items to help families in need. In the Eastern Province, approximately 16,000 low-income families have registered with the government for food support.

Donations were also made to a local clinic located in Dammam’s Second Industrial City - an area that witnessed a surge in COVID-19 cases. The clinic experienced a peak in patients with COVID-19 symptoms and has low inventories of personal protective equipment for its medical staff. Tenaris provided thermometers, N95 masks, medical gowns and face shields manufactured at Tenaris’s mill in Argentina.

“Our company has historically been an integral part of the communities where we operate,” says Mariano Armengol, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TenarisSaudiSteelPipe. “We have leveraged our global network, our support programs and the incredible willingness and solidarity of our employees to contribute as much as possible to ease the pressure of this pandemic.”

“We took quick action to identify needs, and to ensure our efforts were correctly targeted. It has been very rewarding to be part of this global effort and local initiatives,” said Mohammed AlShehri, Human Resources Manager at TenarisSaudiSteelPipes, who oversaw these activities.

In May, Tenaris employees provided colleagues impacted by the lockdown with care packages of food and household cleaning supplies, as access was limited.
