The state's Rapid Response Team is coming to Midland Medical Lodge to help with COVID-19, KOSA reported.
The nursing home is considered a hot spot for positive coronavirus cases and the team will help handle the situation, according to the news agency.
"We have voluntarily activated the Texas Health and Human Services Rapid Response Team at the recommendation of our facility and corporate medical directors," Keri Powell, the lodge's administrator, told the news agency in an e-mailed statement. "We have been working closely with the CDC, Health and Human Services, and the Midland County Health Department and followed all protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 but the threat persists."
The nursing home staff is working hard, Powell told the news agency.
"This is a trying time for long term care facilities across the country who are responsible for the care of the most high-risk citizens," Powell wrote. "We are immensely proud of our staff for their hard work and dedication to our residents. We will keep you informed with future developments."
