Midland College's Ella Tofaeono’s great season is just getting better and better, as she was named the Conference Player of the Week for the WJCAC.

In the two hard-fought games last week, the 6-foot-3 post player from Sydney, Australia, averaged a double-double -- 12 points and 12 rebounds per game.

From the beginning of the season, Tofaeono wanted to set a strong veteran example for the younger players on the roster.

"Stepping into a leadership role this year is definitely something I’ve tried improving on," Tofaeono recently told KOSA.

"It’s kind of an everyday thing. Definitely still working on not fouling early on in the game."

Tofaeono will seek to stay out of early and costly foul trouble in her next game.

The Lady Chaps are set to play their final regular season game against New Mexico Junior College. It will be a stern road test.
